Small Change Personal Finance Expo

Kathryn was responsible for the concept, planning and fundraising for this community based, financial literacy event. The expo was designed to help students, low and mid-income individuals and families develop a holistic financial plan that allows them to live within their income, reduce debt, create a financial safety net and save for short and long term financial goals. Participants included: The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, Consumer Protection BC, British Columbia Securities Commission, Credit Counselling Society, Coast Capital Savings, Vancity, RBC and other financial organizations.

“Kathryn is a great pleasure to work with. Not only is she very organized and detailed oriented but also creative in her idea generation, project planning and problem solving. In addition to this, she approaches each task with not only great energy, but also a real passion for what she is working on. Downtown Victoria Market Days

Kathryn was responsible for the planning, coordination and fundraising of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Annual Market Day events. These urban revitalization events brought together 100's of businesses, media, government, police, military, the arts community, BC Transit and the public together to celebrate the Victoria's, vibrant downtown core. Activities provided stakeholders with the opportunity to achieve their community relations objectives through a variety of fun family friendly activities (i.e. Canadian Forces Display, Police & Community Watch Fun Fair, Musical Entertainment, Classic Car Show, BMX & Skateboard Demonstrations).

"In my opinion, the success of Market Day, now and in the future was due to Kathryn's professionalism, determination, hard work, attention to detail, and her enthusiastic community outreach to involve all members of the downtown community. Kathryn single-handedly pulled of what many thought was too difficult without more resources and expertise." --Laura Acton, Director of Community Relations (Retired), The New VI Television Network (now CTV Two)
